Nnamdi Kanu paid a visit to Biafra warlord, Col. Joseph Achuzia. He described him as one of the greatest combatant in the 20th century. He urged igbos to honour him and other Biafra heroes by staying at home on May 30
Nnamdi Kanu has paid tribute to a Biafra warlord, Colonel Joseph Achuzia as he celebrates his 90th birthday describing him as one of the greatest battle commanders in the 20th century. Sources close to leader of the Indigenous People Of Biafra in an exclusive report to NAIJ.com said he paid a visit to Achuzia.
He reportedly described Achuzia as a brave soldier who with fewer soldiers was able to defeat the Nigerian soldiers during the Biafra war.
The family source said Kanu reiterated that it was important to honour those who fought during the Biafra war by staying at home on May 30. He said: "His name is Col. Achuzia "Air Raid". He defeated the British-backed Murtala Muhammed led Nigerian Army at the famous Abagana battle. He was to repeat that feat later when he got the order to lead the Biafran counter offensive that recaptured Owerri from the British sponsored Nigerian Army with fewer men and ammunition. Marshall Zhukov of the Soviet Red Army is the only commander comparable to Achuzia in the last 100 years.
"Col. Achuzia and Brigadier Timothy Onwuatuegwu are the finest soldiers the world has ever known and they are Biafrans. We celebrate him today and must honour his colleagues on the 30th of May with sit-at-home."

Biafra: Why Igbo people can be identified as proper fools – Ezeonwuka
A member, Board of Trustee, BoT, of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA, Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka has noted that Igbo people are truly the cause of their predicaments in Nigeria.
Chief Ezeonwuka was reacting to the sit-at-home announced by the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB.
He stated that the problem with Ndigbo was that Biafrans themselves had not helped themselves.
He noted, “If you call yourself an Igboman or a Biafran, you must have heard that only 20 pounds was released to every Igbo man shortly after the civil war, and their properties were forcefully taken away from them in some parts of the country in the name of abandoned properties, yet they managed to survive.
“However, it is quite unfortunate that the same Ndigbo who suffered these deprivations have not learnt our lessons from it, to the extent that after surviving the post-civil war trauma, they still went ahead to invest all their monies outside Igboland where their monies and properties could be abandoned for the second time in the event of another outbreak of war or possible break-up of the country.
“I presume that Ndigbo cannot be identified as fools with their first mistakes but with this second mistakes of continuing to invest massively in other parts of the country, as they are doing now in their numbers, they can be identified as proper fools and as such, the step could be likened to an Igbo adage which states that first fool is not fool but second fool is proper foolishness.”
Biafra: Why Igbo people should be allowed to leave Nigeria – ECA
The Deputy Publicity Secretary of the Eastern Consultative Assembly, ECA, Dede Uzor A. Uzor has given his reasons why Ndigbo should be allowed to leave Nigeria.
In his statement, Dede Uzor declared that the ECA had decided to throw its weight behind the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and others to fight for a state of Biafra.
He said the current administration does not recognize Ndigbo in any way.
According to him, “Going by the position of the present administration of General Muhammadu Buhari’s appointment of Nigerian citizens into various strategic positions, Ndigbo remain grossly marginalized and disappointed.
“The effect of what led to the civil war remains unresolved till date.
“For instance, no Igboman is in top four echelon in the strategic security apparatus of the nation, ranging from Chief Of Army Staff, COAS, Chief Of Defence Staff, CDS, Insoector-General of Police, IGP, Director-General of State Security Services, D-G SSS, Specurity Adviser, SSA, Chief of Air Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, Nigerian Customs Service, NCS, Immigration Service, Prisons Service, NAFDAC, NIMASA, Aviation, Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, among others.
“Does it mean that no Igboman is qualified or educationally sound to hold such a strategic positions? These are the issues behind the continued agitation of ndigbo for restoration or actualization of Biafra.
“Since these fundamental issues are yet to be addressed, we in the ECA would want to align ourselves with some prominent Igbo personalities like Dr. Alex Ekwueme, second republic vice president who are in support of Nnamdi Kanu’s continuation with his clamour for the restoration of Biafra.
“We want the Yorubas and other like-minded people, including the South outh to continue to throw their weight and support behind Ndigbo since no individual or group have regretted supporting Ndigbo and I must emphasize that Ndigbo remains trusted allies to any group of individual who wishes to align with them.”
120 countries to celebrate May 30 Biafra Heroes Day – IPOB
The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB has stated that over 120 countries and territories around the world outside Biafraland will participate in the heroes day march declared by its leader, Nnamdi Kanu to honour those who lost their lives during the civil war.
IPOB stated this in a press release by its Media and publicity Secretary Comrade Emma Powerful.
He said the group plans a total shutdown of Biafra’s territories during the march which will be observed with a sit-at-home protest.
Part of the press release reads, “The remembrance of our fallen heroes and heroines on 30th of May 2017 will go down in history as one of the greatest events the world would ever witness. IPOB will use this event to conclusively prove to the whole world that we are ready for the upcoming referendum for Biafra sovereignty.”
Powerful said that countries outside Nigeria would stage a peaceful march during the event, but in Nigeria, all Biafrans were expected to stay indoors and avoid any march or protest as this may give security agents reason to shoot at them.
He added that so far, their members in most countries of the world have secured the permission of the authorities in those countries to hold the protest march, and have been allotted venues.
“IPOB families in the UK, Europe, Asia, Middle East, USA and many others across the world have managed to secure marching permits from their relevant authorities because of this historic 30th of May event.
“In almost all countries where IPOB has presence, including Angola, Mozambique, Congo DRC, Namibia and Tanzania have respectfully perfected their own arrangements to honour our heroes and heroines on that particular day.
“In UK, IPOB has secured their venue at Trafalgar Square, London for a rally. It is however interesting to note that the Deputy National Coordinator of IPOB UK reported that the British Metropolitan Police gave express permission for the march on Trafalgar Square, saying that he knows the group and its leader and that they were not violent.
“He said that he knows that since Mazi Nnamdi Kanu started his street protests in London, there had never been any breach of public peace compared to similar protests by others groups that have always degenerated into scuffles and altercations with law enforcement agencies in the London area.”

MASSOB to Mark Biafra Independence Day on May 22
The Biafra secession cause appears to be very much strong as the Igbo Nation will be observing a historical independence day later this month.
The Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra has declared May 22 as Biafra Independence Day across the country, urging all Igbos worldwide to join in the celebration.
They noted that unlike in the past, this year’s celebration would be held for seven days, assuring that the exercise throughout the period would be violent-free.
A statement issued on Sunday by the Leader of MASSOB, Delta-Central, Mr Perry Akujinwa, appealed to security agencies in the country to allow its members observe the celebration without harassment or any form of intimidation.
According to MASSOB, “The defunct Biafra was declared by Dim Chukwuemeka Odumegwu-Ojukwu on May 30, 1967 and ended 1970. The new Biafra was declared on May 22, 2000 by Chief Ralph Uwazuruike.
“We want to show the whole world that Biafra remains unchangeable and unshakable. This year’s celebration is the first of its kind because there are a lot of changes. The celebration will last for seven days.”
The statement reiterated the groups desire to peacefully achieve the dream of Biafra Republic, adding the Igbos were no longer comfortable with the ‘unholy marriage’, which it claimed had suffocated the progress and innovativeness of the Igbo.
The statement said this year’s celebration would witness activities such as peace walk, talk show, etc in order to highlight why Biafra deserved sovereignty.

The Introduction Of Sharia Law Into Nnamdi Kanu's Trial And The Desperation To Islamize Nigeria
Nigeria is a democratic and a secular entity domiciled by a large population of the Christian faith, predominantly in the Southern and the Western part of the country.
The country was designed by the imperialists in such a way that the Islamic fundamentalists and extremists are always the ones at the helm of affairs in the country.
This paved way for the Hausa Fulanis who are ill-educated or even uneducated to always see Nigeria as their property, hence they see themselves as the first class citizens, while others are tagged infidels and unbelievers who ought to be beheaded and maimed for their Christian faith.
Nevertheless, the Islamic brotherhood in Nigeria have been working tirelessly and extremely determined to execute by all means, their grand plan to Islamize the totality of Nigeria. However, it hasn't been easy for them, because Nigeria is practising a democratic system of government guided by a Common/Civil law as enshrined in the Nigeria constitution.
The Hausa Fulani people and their political elites have been messing around with the civil law which they absolutely know nothing about, owing to the fact that they're backward in reasoning and uneducated.
In Nigeria, the constitution is never a watchword of an average Nigerian, but, it's whatever decision that the Hausa Fulani makes that is forced upon the entirety of Nigeria.
It's very important to note that there is no rule of law in Nigeria; court injunctions are discarded and disobeyed with impunity by government officials on a daily basis.
As written in the 1999 constitution of Federal Republic of Nigeria, in chapter four which protects Right to fair hearing, it states that;
"Whenever any person is charged with a criminal offence, he shall, unless the charge is withdrawn, be entitled to a fair hearing in public within a reasonable time by a court or tribunal: Provided that - (a) a court or such a tribunal may exclude from its proceedings persons other than the parties thereto or their legal practitioners in the interest of defence, public safety, public order, public morality, the welfare of persons who have not attained the age of eighteen years, the protection of the private lives of the parties or to such extent as it may consider necessary by reason of special circumstances in which publicity would be contrary to the interests of justice."
Subsection five of that same chapter states;
"Every person who is charged with a criminal offence shall be presumed to be innocent until he is proved guilty; Provided that nothing in this section shall invalidate any law by reason only that the law imposes upon any such person the burden of proving particular facts."
Of course, anything contrary to the above stated constitutional provisions is an infringement on the right of the accused.
Since 14th October 2015, the exact time the Nigeria Government arrested Prophet Nnamdi Kanu through the unconstitutional Department of State Service (DSS) in Lagos, they have not been able convict him of any offence, but have kept him in detention without any transparent trial.
It's worth knowing that the right of Prophet Nnamdi Kanu has been grossly violated by Nigerian government through her corrupt judiciary who have been paid to pervert justice.
The current Judge, Justice Binta Fatima Murtala Nyako presiding over the case, have taken it upon herself to convict, and jail Nnamdi Kanu. This will definitely be impossible because he (Nnamdi Kanu) committed no offence.
Binta who earlier ruled against secret trial of Nnamdi Kanu, had on March 20, and April 25, 2017, made a u-turn to reinstate the secret trial, while anchoring the basis of her ruling on Sharia law; thereby launching an incredible intimidation campaign against Nnamdi Kanu, his co-defendants and their defense counsels.
This is yet, another proof that the total Islamisation of Nigeria is extremely imminent; because quoting Sharia law in a democratic entity governed under civil law as the reason to reinstate the secret trial which Binta ruled against is totally absurd and very unimaginable.
Notwithstanding, there are three standing court orders which ordered that Nnamdi Kanu be released unconditionally, of which the federal government of Nigeria under general Muhammadu Buhari has flagrantly refused to obey, and which the said Justice Nyako is fully aware of.
Binta must understand that Nigeria is a democratic and a secular state, and as such the rule of law must be paramount.
Also Binta must understand that Biafrans are Christians and as such can't be subjected under sharia law, hence Nnamdi Kanu can't undergo secret trial under Sharia Law.
Biafrans are saying NO to secret trial of Nnamdi Kanu and his co-defendants, hence we are urging Binta to stop playing games and dancing to the tune of Buhari and his cohorts, and without further delay, vary all the unconstitutional terms she imposed on the bail of Nnamdi Kanu.

How President Buhari Made Nnamdi Kanu a True Hero - Iwuanyanwu
A frontline Igbo politician and Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, has stressed that President Muhammadu Buhari’s government made the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu a hero by detaining him.
Iwuanyanwu’s comment is coming at a time Kanu, who is facing charges of treason before an Abuja Federal High Court was released from Kuje prison after spending about 18 months.
Speaking at Amokwe in Udi local government area of Enugu state, the Publisher of Champions Newspaper faulted the treason charges levelled against Kanu, stressing that the IPOB leader only expressed his public opinion, which is not an offence.
Iwuanyanwu, who declared that nobody can wish Biafra away maintained that he is a Biafran by virtue of being an Igbo man.
He said, “I have always said that was no reason for detaining Nnamdi Kanu. Kanu didn’t commit any treason. Treason is when you take up arms against the government, he didn’t take up any arms, there was no reason whatsoever for detaining him, because everybody have the right to say I want Biafra, everybody have the right to say I want Biafra. For God’s sake, I’ve made it clear to people that Biafra is for the Igbo. Hausas are Arewas, Yorubas are Oduduwas and we are Biafrans.
“There is a problem we have because Biafra fought a war and people are ashamed to say they are Biafrans but I am not afraid to say I am a Biafran. Biafra is part of Nigeria, Arewa is part of Nigeria, Oduduwa is part of Nigeria; all of us are there.
“If a person from Odududuwa takes up arms to secede from Nigeria, its treason but if one is just saying by words of mouth, it just an ordinary expression of public opinion. There is no law that makes such a person get convicted by just saying we want to secede, it’s a right of expression.
“But if somebody from Oduduwa is amassing arms to topple the government to secede, its treason. If somebody from Arewa is amassing arms to topple the government, its treason, if somebody from Biafra, because all of us are from Biafra I am from Biafra, to topple government, its treason.
“But if I come and say I want Biafra, it’s no offence. To the best of my knowledge Kanu didn’t have any violent means; all he said was that he wanted Biafra. He shouldn’t have been detained in the first place, I said it long ago. I said the government is making him a hero but people misquoted me and said I said government should jail him.
“No, I said that getting an innocent person, putting him in prison, they are making him a hero. So what Nnamdi Kanu is now is a hero because of all these. So he has not committed any offence and shouldn’t have been in detention in the first place.
“But there are also some parts of Igbo, who since after the war, they don’t want to talk about Biafra. You cannot wish away Biafra, Biafra is there just like you can’t wish away Oduduwa or Arewa.”

A Civil Society group, Concerned Nigerians, has said the ruling of an Abuja Federal High Court to conduct a secret trial for the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, is not in the interest of Nigeria’s national security.
The group maintained that the secret trial of the IPOB leader will violate the “rights and freedoms of the Nigerian people.”
The group made the statement while announcing its planned protest against the secret trial of Kanu on Friday in Abuja.
In a statement signed by the convener of the group, Deji Adeyanju and its Secretary, Dr. John Danfulani, the group disclosed that the march will begin at the Unity Fountain, Abuja at about 9am.
The statement reads, “We invite the general public and members of the press to our peaceful procession to protest the attempts to conduct the trial of detained Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) leader, Nnamdi Kanu, in secret. The procession will begin at the Unity Fountain on Friday April 21st, 2017 by 09:00am.
“This procession has become necessary in the light of the FGN’s continued insistence to conduct the trial in secret. It is our firm belief that a secret trial in such a high profile matter does not serve the interests of the course of justice or Nigeria’s national security interests.
“Furthermore, Sections 36(3) and 36(6)(d) guarantee the right to a public trial and to examine all witnesses called by the prosecution to all Nigerians citizens.
“These attempts to try Nnamdi Kanu in secret not only potentially violate these rights but also constitute a precursor to the erosion of the rights and freedoms of the Nigerian people.

“In the build up to this procession, we have held a meeting with a security team comprising the State Security Services (SSS), the Commissioner of Police in charge of the Abuja Command of the Nigerian Police Force and representatives of the Nigerian Army.
“During this meeting, we reiterated our intention to conduct a peaceful procession in the manner of all our previous processions. We also reiterated our intention to exercise our right to peaceful and lawful assembly as guaranteed by the Constitution.
“We are well aware of the subtle and not so subtle threats made at this meeting. However, we refuse to be intimidated by them. In this wise, our protest will go on as planned.
“We urge all Nigerians who plan to attend to be peaceful and law abiding during the procession.
Recall that the Justice Binta Nyako-led Court had fixed April 25 to deliver ruling on whether to continue with its earlier ruling of Kanu being tried in secret or not.
Kanu alongside Chidiebere Onwudiwe, Benjamin Madubugwu and David Nwawuisi are currently standing trial on criminal charges before the Justice Nyako-led court.
